Are you aware of the hidden health risks associated with keypad access systems?

The spread of germs and bacteria is a major concern, as keypads are touched by multiple individuals throughout the day. This increased risk of touch contamination can lead to the transmission of harmful pathogens.

Additionally, some individuals may even experience allergic reactions to the materials used in keypad construction.

It is important to consider these health risks when evaluating the use of keypad access systems.

Spread of Germs and Bacteria

Keypad access systems can be breeding grounds for germs and bacteria, so it’s important to be aware of the potential health risks associated with them. Here are four reasons why the spread of diseases and cross contamination can occur:

  1. Frequent touch: Keypads are touched by numerous people throughout the day, increasing the chances of transferring germs from one person to another.

  2. Lack of cleaning: Many keypad systems are not regularly cleaned or disinfected, allowing bacteria to thrive and spread.

  3. Shared spaces: Keypads are often found in shared spaces like office buildings or apartment complexes, where people from different backgrounds and health conditions come into contact with the same surfaces.

  4. Unwashed hands: Not everyone practices proper hand hygiene, and individuals may touch the keypad without washing their hands, potentially spreading harmful bacteria.

To protect yourself and others, consider using hand sanitizer after using keypad access systems and encourage regular cleaning and disinfection of these surfaces.

Increased Risk of Touch Contamination

Regularly cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces can significantly reduce the risk of contamination.

In today’s world, where touchscreen technology is ubiquitous, the need for contactless access has become even more crucial. Touchscreens, like those found in keypads, carry a high risk of touch contamination due to the constant contact they receive.

By integrating contactless access systems, you can provide a safer and more hygienic environment for yourself and your community. These systems use technologies such as proximity cards or mobile apps, eliminating the need to physically touch a keypad.

Not only does this reduce the spread of germs and bacteria, but it also offers a more convenient and seamless experience. Embracing contactless access can help us all feel a sense of belonging and contribute to a healthier and safer world.

Potential for Allergic Reactions to Keypad Materials

Embracing contactless access through the use of proximity cards or mobile apps can alleviate the potential for allergic reactions to materials found in touchscreens. Here are four reasons why this shift can benefit you:

  1. Peace of mind: By avoiding direct contact with keypad materials, you can reduce the risk of developing allergic reactions. No more itching or discomfort from sensitive skin!

  2. Health and well-being: Minimizing exposure to allergens found in touchscreens can help you maintain a healthier lifestyle. You deserve to feel your best and be free from unnecessary allergic symptoms.

  3. Convenience: With contactless access, you can effortlessly enter spaces without fumbling with keypads or worrying about potential allergic triggers. It’s a seamless and stress-free experience.

  4. Inclusivity: By adopting contactless technology, you join a community of individuals who prioritize safety and inclusivity. You belong to a group that understands the importance of accommodating diverse needs and sensitivities.

Make the switch to contactless access today and enjoy the benefits of a safer, more inclusive environment.

Maintenance and Repair Issues

Are you tired of dealing with malfunctioning keypads on your access systems? It can be frustrating and time-consuming to constantly troubleshoot and fix keypad issues.

Not only that, but replacing or repairing keypad components can be a real headache, often requiring specialized knowledge and tools.

And let’s not forget about the costly maintenance and upkeep that comes with these systems.

Wouldn’t it be great to find a solution that eliminates these headaches and saves you time and money?

Malfunctioning Keypads

If you’re not careful, malfunctioning keypads can leave you locked out of your own property. Don’t let this happen to you! Here’s what you need to know about keypad replacement and user training:

  1. Keypad replacement: When your keypad starts acting up, it’s crucial to replace it promptly. A malfunctioning keypad not only compromises your security but can also lead to costly repairs down the line. Invest in a reliable keypad replacement to ensure smooth access to your property.

  2. User training: It’s essential to provide proper training to anyone who will be using the keypad. This includes not only residents or employees but also guests or visitors. Educating them on how to use the keypad correctly will minimize the chances of accidental lockouts or damage to the system.

  3. Regular maintenance: To prevent malfunctioning keypads, regular maintenance is vital. This includes cleaning the keypad, checking for loose connections, and ensuring that the software is up to date. By staying proactive in maintaining your keypad access system, you can avoid unexpected issues and enjoy seamless access to your property.

Difficulty in Replacing or Repairing Keypad Components

When it comes to replacing or repairing keypad components, it can be challenging to find the right parts and expertise.

You want your keypad access system to function flawlessly, providing you with a sense of security and belonging. However, when a component malfunctions, it can disrupt your daily routine and leave you feeling vulnerable.

That’s why it’s crucial to have access to reliable resources for replacing or repairing these components. Look for trusted suppliers who specialize in keypad parts and offer expert guidance to ensure you get the right components for your system.

Costly Maintenance and Upkeep

Maintaining and keeping up with the costs of upkeep can be expensive for keypad systems. However, there are cost-saving measures and alternative technologies that can help alleviate the financial burden.

One option is to implement biometric access systems, such as fingerprint or facial recognition. These technologies provide a higher level of security while reducing the need for constant maintenance and repairs.

Another alternative is the use of smart card readers, which offer convenience and ease of use. By investing in these alternative technologies, you not only save money in the long run but also enhance the overall security of your premises.

Limited Access Control

Are you concerned about the limitations of your current access control system?

One key issue to consider is the inability to track individual users, which can make it difficult to identify who is entering and exiting your facility.

Additionally, granting temporary access can be a challenge, potentially leading to delays and inconveniences for both employees and visitors.

Furthermore, the lack of integration with other security systems may leave gaps in your overall security strategy.

It’s time to explore a more advanced access control solution that addresses these concerns and provides you with a comprehensive and efficient security solution.

Inability to Track Individual Users

You can’t track who is using the keypad access system. While these systems provide a convenient way to secure your premises, they lack the ability to identify individual users. This can be a hidden danger that compromises the safety of your space.

Without individual identification, access logs become useless, making it impossible to trace who entered and when. This poses a significant risk, as unauthorized individuals could easily gain access without leaving a trace. As a result, your belongings and the safety of your community are at stake.

To ensure a sense of belonging and protect what matters most, it is crucial to invest in access control systems that offer individual identification and maintain detailed access logs. Don’t settle for less when it comes to the security of your space.

Difficulty in Granting Temporary Access

Granting temporary access can be challenging with these types of security systems, as they lack the ability to easily authorize and monitor temporary users. This can pose a significant risk to your organization’s security.

However, there are remote access solutions available that can address this issue effectively. By implementing a robust temporary access management system, you can ensure that only authorized individuals have access to your premises or sensitive information for a limited time.

These solutions allow you to grant temporary access credentials to visitors, contractors, or employees who require temporary access privileges. With remote access solutions, you can easily track and monitor the activities of these temporary users, ensuring that they adhere to the agreed-upon access restrictions.

Lack of Integration with Other Security Systems

One major issue with these security systems is that they don’t easily integrate with other security systems, limiting their effectiveness. Integration challenges and compatibility issues can pose significant problems for businesses and homeowners seeking a comprehensive security solution.

Here are four reasons why the lack of integration with other security systems is a hidden danger you should be aware of:

  1. Limited functionality: When your keypad access system can’t communicate with other security devices, it fails to provide a holistic approach to security, leaving potential vulnerabilities.

  2. Inefficiency: Without integration, you may need to manage multiple security systems separately, leading to increased complexity and wasted time.

  3. Missed alerts: If your keypad access system operates independently, it may not trigger alarms or send notifications to other devices, reducing the effectiveness of your overall security strategy.

  4. Increased costs: Incompatibility can result in additional expenses, as you may need to purchase new equipment or hire professionals for complex integration.

To ensure a robust and cohesive security system, it is crucial to address the integration challenges and compatibility issues associated with keypad access systems. By doing so, you can enhance the safety of your premises and foster a sense of belonging and security for all.

Alternative Solutions

Consider using biometric access systems as an alternative solution to keypad access systems, as they offer enhanced security and convenience.

In today’s fast-paced world, contactless technology has become increasingly popular, and biometric authentication is at the forefront of this trend. With biometric access systems, you can say goodbye to the hassle of remembering passcodes or carrying access cards. Instead, you can simply use your unique physical attributes, such as fingerprints or facial recognition, to gain entry.

This not only provides a higher level of security, as it is nearly impossible to replicate someone’s biometric data, but also offers a more seamless and convenient experience. No more fumbling with keys or struggling to remember codes; with biometric access systems, you can effortlessly open doors with just a touch or a glance.

Furthermore, biometric authentication ensures that only authorized individuals are granted access, reducing the risk of unauthorized entry and enhancing overall safety.

The service and the work that was done was exceptional. We needed to replace three very old (and very heavy) garage doors in a home that was built in 1960. There were a number of challenges along the way and each one was met professionally and in a timely manner. Lisa was an excellent communicator and highly responsive. Kevin did an extraordinary job with a fairly involved installation. His 'can do' attitude was very refreshing and reassuring. As noted, the final result was terrific. The pricing was VERY reasonable and very fair. The install was completed two days ago and I have already received compliments from the neighbors!

On Oct. 31 my electric gate stopped working and I called Alpha Gate and Door and talked to Lisa. She was great and based on my symptoms said she thought it was the battery and she would send Kealan out the next day. He came and replaced the battery with a 12 v 55ah battery. I asked him to rehang my reflector light on my neighbors new fence so the motion sensor would work. It had worked fine prior to that being taken down. He did that and it worked for a minute and then stopped. He rewired it and it worked once and he left. The next day I noticed the sensor was not working but I didn’t really care because my dog is too small to trigger it. I was charged $448 -$169 for the service call, $249 for the battery and $30 to rewire the sensor. I work exclusively from home as an attorney and never even use the gate during the week. A few weeks later the gate stopped operation completely and I called on Dec. 6. Lisa said she would send Kealan out. He called me and I said the gate would not open at all, the sensor was not working and the sensor was making a nonstop buzzing noise. He arrived fairly late in the day and I saw him pull into my driveway but he did not come to my door and went straight to the gate. I immediately went out there and I saw when he opened the cover that the battery charger lights were not on. He was in a very bad mood and starting ripping the battery out and said I needed a new battery. I said I guess it was because the battery charger wasn’t plugged in. I was not mad about it because that can happen to anyone. He got really mad at that point, I guess because I knew what had happened. He demanded to know whether I had unplugged it, grabbed a huge battery that would not even fit in my unit, then declared the charger had “allegedly” not been plugged in. As he was trying to force the battery in and was slamming everything around, I asked him if he had a smaller battery. He said no, it was whomever installed my gate opener’s fault because the antenna was on the left and they were usually on the right. He continued to try to force it but could not get the cover on. So he gave up and said he would come back Monday with a smaller battery. I assumed the sensor was not working because the battery had died. I heard nothing from anyone the following Monday and had had it so I called Lisa and yelled and told her the way Kealan had behaved and when was the battery actually going to be installed. She said she would talk to Kealan and I said do you have anybody else who is not a jackass who could come instead. She said she would investigate and call me back. She never called me back and apparently the next day around lunch Kealan snuck onto my property, did not tell me he was there, and put in another battery and texted me the gate was now working. I went outside to try it and the remote was not working at all. I have programmed remotes many times (I have done a lot of products liability work and handled cases with complex machinery failures and deposed a lot of engineers so I am not unfamiliar with this type of equipment) and checked it and the receiver was getting the signal from the transmitter but the control board was not opening the gate.So I called Lisa, explained he had come but not told me he was there, and that the remote was not opening the gate. I also apologized for yelling at her the day before because it was not her fault. She said she would tell him. After that call I remembered there is a reset button on the Patriot control board so I went out and pushed it and that caused the remote to work so I called Lisa and said it was working. The new battery is smaller than the one he had originally put in and retails for about $95. The motion sensor still does not work, I have done jumping jacks in front of of it to know avail. I am not bothering to call again about that because Kealan would probably get really mad again. He does NOT like his competence put into question. You decide if $249 is a fair markup on a $95 battery.

I highly recommend Alpha Gate & Door Company! The entire process was incredibly quick and professional! I spoke with Lisa (she’s amazing and extremely knowledgeable) on Tuesday and she came out Wednesday with a recommendation to replace the gate opener that was faulty and couldn’t handle the weight of my gate.
